ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS

In winter of 2010, EWB-UCSB sent a small contingent to the community in Peru to introduce the new project members and initiate stove assessment activities. This trip was vital for collecting data on the current stoves and how they are used so that the new design we develop will be accepted by the community.

EWB's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament was a success! The tournament was held at Hidden Oaks Golf Course in Santa Barbara, CA on a beautiful day in April.

In July of 2009 EWB traveled to Kenya to work with VIAGENCO to install a rainwater catchment system at a rural clinic. The team also surveying the area for potential well sites.

In 2009 the EWB Peru team conducted an assessment trip to a new mountain village in Peru to determine how EWB could help the community. The team also implemented an educational program.

EWB UCSB held its 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Hidden Oaks Golf Course in Santa Barbara, California. EWB was able to raise money and awareness towards our cause.

On Veteran's Day weekend 2007, Engineers Without Borders - UCSB sent students to Baja California, Mexico to build a small home for a Mexican family. Families are selected by a Mexican organization on the basis of need. The homes are simply designed and can be constructed within 4 days by a team of 15-20 people with or without construction experience.
